Having been in business as long as we have, we’ve been asked pretty much everything under the Texas sun. To help you learn more about our company and our products, we’ve listed a few of the most frequently asked questions here. What kinds of tamales do you offer?
Beef, Pork, Chicken, Black Bean and Spinach with Cheese (all are gluten-free)

What kind of cheese is in your Spinach with Cheese tamales?
Cream cheese and Monterrey Jack cheese

How long do the products last?
Every jar/package we sell comes with a date code stamped on it. To find out the date, call us at (713) 795-5500. In general, frozen goods last a year in the freezer, drink mixes have a one-year shelf life, BBQ sauces and salsa are good for two years and our pepper sauces last about 3 years.

Which of your amazing products are gluten-free?
All of our tamales are gluten-free as well as our frozen chili and frozen queso. We have a number of other gluten-free items and are currently putting together that long list. Join our mailing list above to be the first to know.

Can you ship tamales out of the country?
No. We can only ship inside the U.S. or to a U.S. Territory. We cannot guarantee how long it will take to clear customs so we cannot mail any of our fresh foods, which includes our tamales. We can however ship all non-perishable goods anywhere.

Can I send an item as a gift?
Yes! You sound like an awesome gift-giver! Our products make great gifts. When ordering online, simply indicate you are ordering as a gift (there is a box to check) and we will include a gift tag and make sure there is no pricing displayed on the package.

Do you sell wholesale or in bulk?
Yes, wholesale pricing is available to companies/persons with proper credentials.

How spicy are your tamales?
Our tamales definitely have spice, which is part of the great flavor. Some people like extra spicy so we recommend adding our chili or pepper sauces to give it a little more kick.

How do I cook the tamales?
Cooking instructions are included in each package. We recommend steaming in a colander (make sure the tamales don’t sit in water). If the tamales are frozen, it takes 15 to 20 minutes to fully cook and if they are already defrosted, only 10 minutes to cook.

What do you do with the husk around the tamale?
You should cook the tamale with the cornhusk on to help seal in flavor, and remove before eating.

How do you cook the chili and queso?
Both products come in boiling bags to make the cooking process much easier. The bags can be boiled and it takes 15 to 20 minutes to cook. For your convenience, either product can also be cooked in the microwave, though it is not recommended to fully cook the products in the microwave.

What is your most popular salsa?
Our most popular salsa is Wild Pete’s Salsa, which is a combination of sweetness and medium heat.

What is your hottest, spiciest salsa around?
Rawhide Burning Salsa – without a doubt! We dare you to try it for yourself!

Do you cater?

What hours are you open?
Our restaurant/retail location is open M-F 7am-6pm and Saturdays from 7:30am-6pm. We are not open on Sundays, except for the entire month of December when we are open 7 days a week for holiday shopping galore.
